I completed the first stage of the cadetship mid-February 2022, passing my exams and leaving with my Yacht Master Offshore along with lots of other maritime qualifications varying from jet ski proficiency to low level marine engineering.
As a result of all this training, I quickly got offered a job as a deckhand on a 55m private yacht, who flew me out to Nice in the beginning of March.
It is going so well! I am loving life onboard and on my days off I get to explore the Côte d'Azur. The season begins properly very soon so we are due to begin travelling around the Mediterranean and I can't wait.
I am particularly thankful to the CCLT, who's award has made this adventure possible!
